Equipment

  • 1 skillet
  • 1 Pizza pan

Ingredients

  • 1 store-bought or homemade 12" pizza crust
  • cup Alfredo sauce or any pizza sauce you like.
  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 4 oz medium raw shrimp, shelled and deveined
  • 4 oz calamari rings
  • 2 Tablespoons butter unsalted
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 garlic clove crushed
  • ½ small red onion sliced
  • ½ bell pepper sliced, any color or color combination you like
  • ¼ cup Kalamata olives pitted and sliced in half.

To garnish:

  • Chopped parsley or basil leaves

Instructions

  • Heat butter over medium heat in a skillet.
  • Add shrimp and cook 30 seconds on each side.
  • Add calamari and cook for another 30 seconds.
  • Season mixture with salt and pepper.
  • Add garlic and keep cooking for 30 seconds.
  • Remove skillet from heat and immediately place the mixture in a bowl and drain any excess liquid.

Assemble the pizza

  • Spread sauce over pizza base on the pizza pan and then top with cheese.
  • Scatter seafood mixture, bell pepper slices and olive halves placed cut side down.
  • Bake according to your crust instructions.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley or fresh basil leaves.
  • Slice and serve.

Notes

  • You can use any seafood combination you like, or you can make it all shrimp, add some crab meat or omit the calamari if you do not like it.
  • This recipe works great for leftover seafood dinner.
  • Use any bell pepper color(s) you like.
  • Most of my family liked the pizza with Alfredo sauce, but one of my kids like it with tomato sauce, so you might want to make both and see what your family likes more of.
  • We love loaded pizza so feel free to skip one of the toppings if this is not you.
  • Add more seasoning like red pepper flakes or fresh basil to your pizza!
Storage:
If you have leftover seafood pizza then it can be wrapped and stored in your refrigerator for up to 3 or 4 days. Always check that it smells okay before eating.
