Puff Pastry Chocolate Croissants Recipe

A delicious treat made easy with the help of puff pastry. Done in 30-minutes these chocolate croissants are a crowd pleaser and the perfect end to any meal.

Equipment

  • 1 large baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 1 egg lightly beaten with ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 oz chocolate 40g
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Lightly dust your working area with flour, unfold the puff pastry sheet over.
  • Lightly dust a rolling pin with flour and roll your puff pastry sheet into a rectangle.
  • Cut the pastry sheet into 16 triangles as shown.
  • Place about two teaspoons of chocolate on the wide edge of one triangle.
  • Roll from the wide side then bend the edges inwards a bit do form a croissant shape.
  • Place on the baking sheet and proceed with the remaining triangles.
  • Brush top with egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until top is golden.

Notes

  • Use any chocolate you like, or a mix of chocolate.
  • Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut the triangles.
  • Melt any remaining chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle on tip for a fancy look or sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
