Karak Tea (Karak Chai)
Karak tea is a creamy spiced and very delicious tea that is popular in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and neighboring Gulf countries. Black tea is brewed with a blend of spices which gives the tea its distinct flavor and aroma.

- 2 cups of water
- 2 tea bags or 2 teaspoon loose tea.
- 5 oz evaporated unsweetened milk
- Sugar to taste
- 8 cardamom pods
- 4-5 whole cloves
Optional spices to add, use any or all of the following
- ⅛ - ¼ teaspoon cinnamon You can also use one cinnamon stick
- ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
- 4 slices of fresh ginger You can also use ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- 3-5 Saffron threads
In a pot, or tea pot, add water, tea bags and sugar. Stir to combine.
Add the spices you are using and bring to a boil.
Add milk, reduce heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Strain, pour in serving cups.
