Golden Crispy chicken strips

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into stripes against the grain.*

For the marinade:

  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt.
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning.
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika.
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.
  • 1 cup flour.
  • 2 teaspoon cornstarch.
  • 2 Tablespoons yogurt.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder.
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste.
  • 1 Tablespoon ketchup.
  • 2 Tablespoons vinegar.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste.
  • 1 cup water

For coating:

  • 2 cups flour.
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric.
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.
  • 2 cups Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a deep bowl combine all the marinade ingredients and stir well.
  • Add the chicken and marinade for at least for 3 hours and preferably over night.
  • When ready to fry, heat about 2 cups of oil to 365 degrees in a frying pan.
  • In a bowl, combine coating ingredients and stir well.
  • Remove chicken pieces from marinade. Coat chicken all around with the above mixture but do not press tightly.
  • Fry chicken pieces from 2-4 minutes per side depending on its size.
  • Serve hot and ENJOY!!

Notes

* You may use chicken tenders as well.
