Ingredients

  • 2 cans peaches (15ounce) each
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1 ½ stick butter frozen

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • In a 13x9 baking dish pour the peach cans with their juices.
  • Sprinkle cake mix on top and spread evenly with the back of a spoon do not press or mix it with peaches.
  • Grate a 1 ¼ stick of frozen butter, leaving the remaining ¼ cup in the freezer.
  • Sprinkle the frozen grated butter on top of the cake evenly.
  • If you cannot cover the whole top then grate the remaining ¼ cup and spread it over.
  • Bake in the center of your oven for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and top browns nicely and evenly.
  • Let it cool down slightly then serve topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Notes

  • I’ve tried peaches both in natural juices and heavy syrup. We like the natural juice better as it was lighter on sugar and with the addition of whipped cream you do not really miss the extra sugars but this is up to your personal preference.
  •  Use white or yellow cake mix.
  • You can sprinkle some cinnamon on top of the peaches or while serving.
  • Add a teaspoon of almond extract gives it a great flavor too.
  • Variations:
    • You can literally use any canned fruit you like.
    • Use white or yellow cake mix.
    • Mix things up like cherries and chocolate cake mix, blueberries and lemon cake mix.. etc.
