Green tea matcha smoothie.

Minty matcha smoothie with ginger syrup for a delicious refreshing drink.

For the Ginger syrup

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
  • 1/6 pound ginger root, thinly sliced (about 1/2 cup).
  • 3/4 cup water.

For the smoothie

  • 1 cup cashew milk.
  • 2 scoops of frozen yogurt. (1/2 cup)
  • 1 Tablespoon matcha powder.
  • 2 Tablespoon ginger syrup.
  • 4 or more fresh mint leaves.


  • Start by making the syrup, in a pot over medium high heat combine water, ginger and sugar and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes until a bit thicker.
  • Strain the syrup and let it cool down.

To make the smoothie

  • In your blender or food processor combine all the smoothie ingredients.
  • Blend until smooth then pour into chilled glasses.
  • Serve immediately.
