Baked Meatballs in Sauce
Juicy beef meatballs baked in marinara sauce and topped with melty cheese. This bubbly meatball casserole is perfect with pasta, crusty bread or stuffed into foot long sandwiches. A dinner that will win you hearts.

For the meatballs:
- 2 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon thyme leaves
- ¾ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
- ½ cup fresh parsley leaves chopped
For the sauce:
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup parmesan cheese grated
Preheat oven to 425F, line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
In a large bowl, combine the meatballs ingredients except for the meat. Mix well.
Add in the ground beef and mix well to combine.
Using a two tablespoons ice cream scoop roll the meatballs into smooth balls then place in the baking sheet.
Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, meatballs should be brown on the surface but still not fully cooked.
Take the baking sheet out and lower the heat to 35F.
Pour marinara sauce into a 13x9 baking dish and place the meatballs in the sauce and stir to coat.
Sprinkle both cheese on top and return to oven.
Bake for another 15-20 minutes or until cheese melts.
