- ½ cup Soy sauce or Tamari
- 2 Tablespoons Maple syrup
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
In a mason jar, combine the ingredients and shake vigorously until combined.
Container method: add the ingredients to a bowl and whisk well until it starts to thicken.
- If you whisk or shake this stir fry sauce by hand, you’ll notice the cornstarch will not fully mix in. This is totally normal and will go unnoticed once the sauce is added to your stir fry. If it still bothers you, I recommend blending the sauce or using an immersion blender to ensure the cornstarch is fully mixed in.
- This stir fry might seem thin, but it will thicken when heated. I suggest sauteeing your stir fry veggies or protein then adding this stir fry sauce in to the stir fry pan for the final few minutes to absorb the flavors and thicken up.
- As I mentioned above, it’s totally customize-able. At first sight, this recipe might seem too simple, but that’s the point. Use this simple recipe as a base to make your own delicious stir fry.
- Too thick? Thin it out with water or vegetable broth. Too thin? Add another tablespoon of cornstarch.
- For more flavor add garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, sesame oil, green onions.
