In a bowl, add the garlic, olive oil, lime juice, salt and pepper and mix well to combine.
Clean the chicken thoroughly, pat dry then cut a slit in each one and place in the bowl.
Coat the chicken on all sides and marinate for 30 minutes or overnight.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil then brush with some olive oil. Or line with parchment paper.
Arrange drumsticks on your baking sheet. Bake for an hour.
Remove chicken from oven and up the heat to 425F.
Brush the drumsticks with bbq sauce then flip and brush the other side as well. Bake for 7 minutes.
Repeat brushing and baking for another 3 or 4 times or until chicken is crispy, sauce is dark and thick and well layered on your chicken.
