- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs ($5.60)
- 3 Tablespoons soy sauce ($0.15)
- 2 Tablespoons oil ($0.72)
- 1 Tablespoon honey ($0.17)
- Juice of a large lemon ($0.7)
- ½ teaspoon salt or to your liking ($.015)
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper ($.08)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder ($.05)
- ½ teaspoon onion powder ($.05)
- ½ teaspoon paprika ($.05)
- ½ teaspoon allspice ($.05)
Mix all the ingredients well with the chicken and let it marinate for about 30 minutes up to 24 hours.
Cook on an an outdoor/indoor grill until thoroughly cooked.
Or heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a large skillet on medium heat.
Cook the chicken for 4- 6 minutes per side until nicely charred or the internal temperature reaches 165°F to 175°F (75°C to 80°C) when measured with a meat thermometer. Check out the notes below for other cooking directions.
- Outdoor Grill:
- When ready to cook, heat an outdoor grill on medium-high heat (around 400°F /200°C). Scrape the grill grates clean if needed and oil well.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place on the grill smooth-side down in a single layer,
- Cover and cook Grill the thighs for about 4–6 minutes per side.
- Skillet/Grilling Pan:
- Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a large pan or grilling pan.
- Add chicken thighs in a single layer, smooth side down.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes or until you can easily flip over the chicken. Flip and cook for 6 to 7 more minutes or until no longer pink.
- Air Fryer Method:
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F/195°C.
- Place the chicken thighs in the basket in a single layer smooth side down(do not overlap).
- Air fry for 10 minutes, flip to the other side and air fry for another 5-6 minutes or until fully cooked.
