Adaptable recipe โ€“ make it your own!

  • Want it spicier? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red chili flakes to give your seasoning a little kick.
  • For an herby twist, sprinkle in some dried thyme, oregano, or parsley.
  • Onion powder and celery salt are also great additions to this spice blend when you want to add a little more flavor.
  • If you love a tangy flavor, a dash of lemon pepper seasoning pairs wonderfully with the rest of the blend.

Step by step: instructions

Instructions to make the recipe.
  1. In a small bowl, combine ingredients together, then place into a small glass jar with a tight lid.

Your questions answered: FAQs

Is fry seasoning the same as seasoned salt?

No, fry seasoning is not the same as seasoned salt. Fry seasoning contains more herbs and spices, whereas seasoned salt has more salt than spices.

Can I use this seasoning for things other than fries?ย ย

Absolutely! This versatile blend is perfect for seasoning roasted vegetables, grilled meats, snacks like popcorn, or even homemade potato chips.ย

My notes

  • Feel free to double or triple this recipe so that you can keep a batch on hand for whenever you need it.
  • When using fry seasoning, I like to add it to hot fries. This helps the seasoning stick and gives the fries a good coating of flavor.
  • For a smokier flavor, consider adding a pinch of chipotle powder to the mix. Itโ€™s a delicious way to add smoky flavor to your dishes!
  • Besides topping your favorite cut of French fries with this seasoning, you can also use it to give extra flavor to home fries, a baked potato, or even tater tots.

Storage and reheating

Storage - Store your homemade seasoning blend in an airtight container in a cool dark place for up to 6 months. I always prefer to store my spices in glass jars.

Perfect pairings: what to serve with

This flavorful fry seasoning will taste amazing on top of these Frozen Sweet Potato Fries or Frozen French Fries in the air fryer. They are a great way to make seasoned fries for your next side dish.
