Tiramisu Balls

I’m slightly obsessed with coffee and that's why you'll find many coffee recipes in this little corner of the internet. From this Tiramisu recipe, Coffee cupcakes, Tiramisu overnight oats to Turkish coffee. Ok maybe I am more than slightly obsessed!

These truffles are all the rage the last couple of weeks. I finally made them, and wow, I instantly understood why they're so popular.

This will be your secret weapon when you need a dessert that looks fancy but comes together in just 15 minutes. It brings a touch of coffeehouse elegance straight to your table.

Ingredients

Ingredients for the tiramisu truffles on a marble surface.

Pro Tip

Do not add the coffee all at once, first mix in a couple of tablespoons then gradually add more coffee, one teaspoon at a time, until you have a soft but manageable dough that holds together.

FAQs

How to store Tiramisu truffles?

Place leftovers in a container with paper towels between layers to absorb moisture. Leave room between the balls, do not let them touch each other as much as possible. They will keep in the fridge for 1-2 days. Condensation happens if kept longer, so you'll need to coat them again in cocoa powder before servingg.

Can I freeze these truffles?

Of course, you can freeze Tiramisu truffles. Although it is better to freeze them without the cocoa powder layer, you can freeze with the cocoa powder but you might need to reroll them again in cocoa powder before serving.

I do not like unsweetened cocoa what to use instead?

I understand the cocoa powder can be bitter for some, you can use a mix of chocolate cocoa and unsweetened cocoa powder. You can also roll in confectioners' sugar or dip in melted chocolate.

What other variations can I make?

Think of any other flavor other than coffee. Among the most popular are lemon, strawberries, triple berries and mango.

More Tips

  • If the cocoa layer starts to melt, due to long storage, give it a second coat before serving.
