    Easy chocolate croissants are an indulgent treat that are effortless to make. Each bite will be oozing warm chocolate mixed with a delicious flaky puff pastry. Use a short cut of store bought puff pastry and homemade chocolate croissants are only minutes away.

    • Puff pastry dough: Use store bought puff pastry. Thaw according to the package directions.
    • Egg: Used as an egg wash which adds a shiny golden brown coat to the croissant. Flavor the egg yolk with a tiny bit of vanilla, if you choose.
    • Chocolate: Use your favorite chocolate for best taste.

    🥄 Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly dust your working area and a rolling pin with flour, unfold the puff pastry sheet over the floured surface. Roll your puff pastry sheet into a rectangle.
    2. Cut the pastry sheet into 16 triangles as shown.

    1. Place about two teaspoons of chocolate on the wide edge of one triangle.
    2. Roll from the wide side then bend the edges inwards to form a crescent shape.
    3. Place the rolled croissant on a lined baking sheet and proceed with the remaining triangles.
    4. Brush top with egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until top is golden.

    • Use any chocolate you like. Milk chocolate. dark chocolate, white chocolate or a mix.
    • Use a sharp knife or a pizza cutter to cut the triangles.
    • Melt any remaining chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle on top for a fancy look or sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

    Can I use crescent dough instead of puff pastry?

    Yes! Using a roll of crescent dough in place of puff pastry would also make delicious and tasty chocolate croissants. Substitute the puff pastry and follow the recipe instructions below. Please note, the crescent rolls may not take as long to bake as the puff pastry.

    ⌛ Make Ahead

    • Chocolate croissants can be made ahead of time until your party or brunch begins, however, they may not last that long. Wrap fully baked chocolate croissants and store in a cool dry place.
