- Puff pastry dough: Use store bought puff pastry. Thaw according to the package directions.
- Egg: Used as an egg wash which adds a shiny golden brown coat to the croissant. Flavor the egg yolk with a tiny bit of vanilla, if you choose.
- Chocolate: Use your favorite chocolate for best taste.

- Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly dust your working area and a rolling pin with flour, unfold the puff pastry sheet over the floured surface. Roll your puff pastry sheet into a rectangle.
- Cut the pastry sheet into 16 triangles as shown.
- Place about two teaspoons of chocolate on the wide edge of one triangle.
- Roll from the wide side then bend the edges inwards to form a crescent shape.
- Place the rolled croissant on a lined baking sheet and proceed with the remaining triangles.
- Brush top with egg and bake for 20-25 minutes until top is golden.
