  • You only need simple ingredients that you may already have on hand, so you may not need to take a trip to the grocery store.

📋 Ingredient Notes

  • Beef steak - Look for a steak with good marbling, this will ensure you have nice and tender steak bites.
  • Oil - Any neutral flavored oil will work. I've used olive oil, vegetable oil, and canola oil and it's all worked well.
  • Unsalted butter - You can use salted butter also, however, if you use it reduce the amount of salt that you use to season your steak.
  • Garlic cloves - Fresh garlic cloves give this easy recipe the best flavor, however, you can also jar minced garlic or garlic powder instead.
  • Fresh rosemary - Look for rosemary that is still green and fragrant for the best taste.
  • Black pepper and salt - These basic seasonings will add a great flavor to your steak.

🥄 Instructions

Note: This is an overview of the instructions. The detailed instructions are in the recipe card below.

Images of instructions to make the recipe.
  1. Pat dry the steak cubes with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat a cast iron pan over medium-high heat and add oil.
  3. Once the oil is very hot, add the steak cubes and sear to brown all over turning them in all directions. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add butter, garlic and rosemary. Keep stirring to coat the beef with sauce and continue to cook for a minute or two.1
  5. Remove from heat and serve.

💡 Amira's Tips

  1. Make sure that you cut the steak pieces into even bite-sized pieces so that they cook at the same rate.
  2. It's important that you use a hot skillet for a beautiful sear on the outside of your steak bites. Don't rush the preheating process.
  3. Place the steak bites in a single layer in your skillet so that they brown evenly.
  4. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the bites so that you don't overcook them.

🧺 Storage

Refrigerate - Store leftover steak bites in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Freeze - One great thing about this recipe is that you can freeze the leftover steak for later. Store them in the freezer-safe bag or container for up to three months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.

Reheat - The best way to reheat steak is to place it in a skillet  over medium heat until warmed through. You can also use the microwave, but the texture may not be as good.

⌛ Make Ahead

These steak bites are best served fresh. However, if you want to save a little time on a busy night, feel free to cut the steak up and store it in a bowl or bag until you get home and ready to cook dinner.

  • I don't know about you, but I always enjoy a Fluffy Buttery Dinner Roll with a hearty meal like this one. You can never go wrong with a bread side dish.

👩‍🍳 Variations

  • To change up the flavors try using different fresh herbs such as fresh parsley or thyme.
  • For a touch of spice sprinkle the top of your steak bites with red pepper flakes.
