Ingredients

- Pineapple juice— Pineapple juice gives this mocktail its sweet pineapple flavor.
- Cream of coconut— Adds a slight coconut flavor along with a rich, creamy texture. You can find it on the international aisle at your grocery store. This cream is sweetened, so no need to add sweeteners for this recipe.
- Ice - ice cubes are what give this mocktail its frozen texture. I've found that cubes work better than nuggets when making frozen drinks.
- For garnish, you will need maraschino cherries.

Virgin Pina Colada
Ingredients
- 6 ounces pineapple juice
- 3 ounces cream of coconut
- 1-2 cups crushed ice
Instructions
- Pour all ingredients on a high powdered blender.
- Blend for 1 minutes until all combined
- Serve garnished with cherries and a wedges of pineapple.
Notes
- It is a sweet drink, but if it is too sweet for your liking, consider making your own pineapple juice, using less coconut cream, or blending in more ice cubes.
- You can use frozen pineapple instead of ice, it makes the drink more creamy but in my opinion added a lot of sugar and the drink became too sweet for my liking. Worth noting that kids liked it more with frozen pineapples.

FAQs
A coco colada is made with coconut water instead of coconut cream so it's thinner, and less creamy than the frozen pina colada.
No, these two are not the same. Cream of coconut is very sweet and usually used in cocktails and desserts. Coconut cream is thicker, unsweetened with a higher fat content.
I don't recommend making this tropical drink ahead as the ice will melt and water down the drink. However, you can store the pineapple juice and coconut mixture in the fridge for up to three days then blend in with ice just before serving.
Use frozen pineapple chunks instead of ice, but bare in mind that this will make the drink even sweeter which kids do not mind but adults might. Make a pina colada smoothie or milkshake by mixing yogurt or vanilla/coconut ice cream.
Amira's Tips
- For the best flavor and texture, I recommend that you use coconut cream and not canned coconut milk. Regular coconut milk doesn't have the same sweetness, and it's thinner, so it will affect your final results.
- Garnish this tropical drink with a pineapple slice on the rim of the glass, some whipped cream, and a maraschino cherry or two on top.
- I recommend that you use a high-powdered blender for mocktails that need ice. A Vitamix blender or a Ninja will give you the smoothest drink.
- If you are using a regular blender, you may need to blend the pineapple and coconut mixture for 2 - 4 minutes to get it completely smooth.
- This is a sweet drink, if you find it too sweet for your liking you might wanna add more ice, use less cream of make your own fresh pineapple juice.

I love creating mocktails, like virgin mojito and virgin margarita. Although we do not consume cocktails at my house, it helps a lot when you have a party to make everyone feel included. Let me know what mocktails you would like to see next.

Perfect recipe! I’ve tried a few and was not satisfied. My 8 years old enjoyed it so much.
