Chicken Flatbread Pizza


I make this flatbread pizza when I’m craving something comforting but don’t want to spend all night in the kitchen. The chicken is seasoned with brown sugar and paprika, so it gets a sweet-smoky flavor that makes it out of this world delicious. about the recipe and why I like it in general, with no bullets like we used to do.

Easy flavorful bbq chicken pizza with tender, smoky chicken, melted cheese, and a tangy-sweet BBQ sauce all piled onto a crispy flatbread crust. The perfect bite any time of the day.

Ingredients

For the chicken:

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into ½ inch cubes
  • ½ Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the pizza:

  • 4 flatbread pizza base
  • 2-3 Tablespoons BBQ sauce per pizza
  • 1 medium red onion sliced.
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese per pizza or to your liking
  • 2 Tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Cook the chicken:

  • In a bowl combine chicken spice together then add chicken and toss to coat.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium high heat add the chicken and cook for 6-8 minutes or until done.

Assemble the pizza and bake:

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • In a small bowl combine olive oil and garlic powder then brush the pizzas with the mixture.
  • Spread bbq sauce over pizza base and top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Divide cooked chicken over the pizzas along with the red onion slices.
  • Bake in the center of your oven for 10 minutes until edges are golden brown and crispy.

How to Make BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza

Let's start by gathering everything we need. I'm using boneless chicken breasts to build a smoky flavor from the ground up, but a store-bought rotisserie chicken is a fantastic shortcut for a quicker meal.

Combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Toss in the chicken cubes to coat.

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and cook chicken for 6-8 minutes, until browned and cooked through.

In a small bowl, combine the olive oil and garlic powder. Lightly brush this mixture over the entire surface of the flatbread. This will create a flavorful base and help it get crispy. Next, spread an even layer of your favorite BBQ sauce.
