Ginger latte is a gourmet style coffee easily made in minutes at home. This creamy and luxurious coffee drink is perfect for warming up your insides especially on chilly days.

Ginger latte is a delicious at home coffee drink without the need of an espresso machine. All the favorite flavors of warmth in one easy latte. Fresh ginger can aid in digestion, help to ward off an upset stomach, fight inflammation as well as to be loaded with antioxidants. Drink your coffee and reap the health benefits of ginger.

📋 Ingredient Notes

  • Milk - any milk can be used. I used whole milk but unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk is also a favorite if you want a dairy free option.
  • Instant coffee
  • Brown sugar - gives the latte a very enjoyable flavor. Other options are granulated sugar, honey or a sugar substitute.
  • Vanilla extract - everything is better with vanilla.
  • Cinnamon - one whole cinnamon stick is used
  • Whole cloves - whole cloves give the best flavor.
  • Ginger root - fresh ginger root is best and only need a small amount.

  • In a small saucepan mix together all the latte ingredients. Heat the mixture on medium heat until it bubbles.
Straining latte into a blue tea pot.
  • Strain the warm latte.
Pouring latte into glass cups.
  • Serve garnished with whipping cream.

  • Use any coffee you like, instant coffee, espresso or Turkish coffee.
  • Brown sugar gives this recipe a distinct flavor but you can use any sweetener of choice.

Do I have to peel the ginger before using?

Nope! Just a rough chop of the ginger is all that's needed before throwing it in the pot to cook.

Can I use regular brewed coffee?

I find instant coffee works the best, but if you are making a pot of coffee, you could save a tiny bit on the side for your ginger latte. 1 ounce of black coffee is enough for this delicious treat.

  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar light or dark
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1 piece of ginger root about 1 ½ inches
