- Pizza sauce - You can use your favorite store-bought sauce or whip up a batch of homemade pizza sauce.
- Oregano - Dried oregano will add to the flavor of your garlic bread.
- Cheese - I used shredded mozzarella. I like to shred my own so that it melts well.
- Pizza toppings - Use your favorite pizza toppings.

👍 Amira's Tips
- For easy clean up try lining your baking sheets with parchment paper, which will prevent this great recipe from sticking to the pan.
- If you are out of pizza sauce you can also use any brand of marinara sauce or even whip up a batch of homemade sauce.
🧺 Storage
Refrigerate - Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Freeze - You can also freeze the French bread pizzas. Just wrap them tightly in plastic wrap and store them in a freezer bag for up to three months. You can also reheat them from frozen.
Reheat- I've found that the best way to reheat this garlic pizza bread is in the oven. at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes or until warm and bubbly.
⌛ Make Ahead
The best part of this recipe is that it can be made ahead. So, assemble your pizzas and keep them in the fridge until you are ready to bake them. Just a note though, the bread that we used for the pizza base will soak up some extra sauce so I recommend a little more sauce to each cheesy pizza if you are going to make them ahead.
🍽️ Serve With
- This French bread pizza is a delicious meal all on its own. However, you can also pair it with a simple salad like this Keto Greek Salad, or even this Easy Fruit Salad makes a great side dish with pizza.
- Add these little smokies in crescent rolls to your easy appetizers list. Make them extra special with different toppings.
👩🍳 Variations
- Fresh garlic cloves work best in this pizza bread recipe, however, if you are out of garlic, you can use garlic salt. Just leave the salt out of the butter mixture.
- Swap the oregano out and use a little bit of Italian seasoning instead for extra flavor.
- You could also make this recipe on top of slices of Texas toast for miniature pizzas.
💬 FAQs
You don't have to cook the garlic, but if you want a little less bite to your garlic then you can saute it for a minute or two in a skillet with a small amount of olive oil.
