  • For the cheddar cheese seasoning I've used a brand that is easily found in stores.
  • You can also use any cheese powder you like or have at home.
  • Nutritional yeast is not a must but it gives an extra cheesy and savory taste to the doritos.
  • Use corn tortillas not the flour one, here is the brand I've used for this recipes.

🥄 Instructions

Note: This is an overview of the instructions. The detailed instructions are in the recipe card below.

A collage of two images showing how to cur tortillas to make doritos.
  1. First fold tortillas in halves then into quarters, the tortillas will tear on its own, then cut into two triangles so each tortilla will give 8 pieces.
  2. Spray a lined baking sheet with oil spray, arrange triangles then spray the tops and bake.
  1. Mix spice ingredients in a small bowl and taste to adjust seasoning to your liking.
  2. Immediately after the tortillas are out sprinkle each side with the mixture on both sides while it is still hot.

💡 Expert Tips

  • I do not recommend using flour tortillas in this recipe, they are too thick and do not give the desired taste.
  • I’ve used nacho cheddar and white cheddar popcorn seasoning in this recipe which made for a perfect mix. If this is not available, you can use finely grated parmesan cheese.
  • You can also use cheddar cheese powder, they are available online.
  • I did not add more salt to the spice mix as it is already salted but you can taste the mix before sprinkling it over the tortillas and adjust accordingly.
  • Nutritional yeast is not a must but it adds a savory cheesy flavor so if you have it go ahead and use some.
  • Other cooking methods are listed in the recipe card below.
