📋 Ingredient Notes
- Use your favorite homemade or store bought frozen burgers. Mine were a ⅓rd pound and about ½ inch each so yours might be a little different.
- I like using the spices pictured above including the Montreal steak seasoning, this is totally optional. Use whatever burger spices you like, can be as simple as garlic powder, salt and pepper.

- Sprinkle the spices over the patties
- Line the drip pan with aluminum foil, arrange frozen burger patties in the air fryer basket and air fry on 360 degrees F for 6 minutes then flip to the other side, sprinkle with more seasoning if you like and air fry again for 3-4 minutes or until it reaches your desired doneness level.
👍 Amira's Tips
- Although my air fryer is so easy to clean lining the drip pan or the bottom of your air fryer with aluminum foil makes for an even easier clean up. Please check your manual for restrictions before doing that.
- Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness and the size of the burgers.
- I sprinkle spices on one side of the burgers only.
- You can use this recipe on homemade frozen beef patties made from ground beef as well.
- In case your air fryer smoke especially when cooking fatty food or if you are cooking multiple batches consider adding a couple of tablespoons of water or a piece of bread in the dripping pan or at the bottom of your air fryer. Please refer to your manual for safety and proper use.
- Cover the burger with aluminum foil tent and rest for 3-4 minutes before serving.
🧺 Storage
It is better to consume burgers as soon as they are done to ensure juicy and delicious burgers. However if you have leftovers place them wrapped in tin foil in your fridge for up to 2-3 days or in your freezer for up to 3 months.
👩🍳 Variations
You can make literally any frozen burger in the air fryer the same way. Sprinkle with your favorite spice mix, air fry at 360F until it is done. According to the FDA the safe temperature for chicken or turkey burgers is 165F, and 145 for salmon.
Serve With
- Your favorite potato salad, potato chips, air fryer frozen onion rings, french fries or air fryer frozen sweet potato fries.
- Use your favorite burger toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and do not forget to slather the buns with some of this big mac sauce.
💬 FAQs
It is better to use a meat thermometer to check if the burgers are done to your level of liking.
Here are the temperatures for each level:
Medium Rare: 130°F to 135°F
Medium Well: 150°F to 155°F
Well Done: 160°F to 165°F
Sure there is no need for defrosting the burger patties before cooking them in the air fryer. Simply place the frozen burgers in the basket/tray, sprinkle with your preferred seasoning and air fry.

- You will need an air fryer for this recipe, this recipe was tested on Cuisinart air fryer and a ninja air fryer. There is no specific air fryer, any other air fryer will work you just need to check your manual for the settings.
Frozen Burgers in Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 4 Frozen beef burgers
- Your favorite burger seasoning
- 4 Burger buns toasted
Optional Toppings:
- 4 Cheese slices or more if you like
- Sliced onions
- Lettuce
- Big Mac Sauce or your favorite burger sauce.
Instructions
- Line the dripping pan or the bottom of your air fryer with aluminum foil.
- Season your burgers with your favorite seasoning.
- Air fry frozen patties at 360F for 6 minutes, flip and cook for another 3-5 minutes on the other side. Cook until it reaches your level of doneness or until it reaches a safe minimum internal temperature of 160F.
- If using cheese, top each burger with a slice of cheese and air fry again for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Place burgers on a plate covered with a foil tent and let them rest for few minutes.
- Serve in toasted burger buns topped with a slice of cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and your favorite toppings. Do not forget the sauce.
Notes
- My burgers were ⅓ pound, so adjust cooking time according to the thickness of your burgers and the level of donnes you like.
- Serve them with french fries, air fryer onion rings or air fryer sweet potato fries. These burgers make a great lettuce wrap as well.
