Better than Coffee Shop Ginger Latte

I love making this ginger latte because, in just five minutes, my kitchen transforms into my favorite cozy cafe. Using a simple pot on the stove, I can create that deep, spicy-sweet flavor without any special machines or store-bought syrups. The best part is the incredible fragrance that wraps around my home while it brews—it’s pure comfort in a scent.

For me, this drink is a daily treat that feels good and does good. That kick of fresh ginger does more than just taste amazing; it settles my stomach and feels like a warm, healthy hug from the inside out. It’s my little ritual: enjoying a luxurious coffee moment while quietly knowing I’m giving my body a boost of goodness.

Pro Tip

Feel free to use any milk you love or have on hand. I typically reach for whole milk for its creaminess, but for a dairy free version, unsweetened almond or coconut milk are my go to favorites, they work beautifully.

        Recipe Tips

        • Don't feel limited by the coffee—this recipe is wonderfully flexible. I've made it with everything from instant coffee for a quick fix, to a strong espresso shot, and even with finely ground Turkish coffee for an extra bold layer of flavor. Use whatever you have and enjoy..
        • Brown sugar gives this recipe a distinct flavor but you can use any sweetener of your choice.

        Serve with

        FAQs

Do I have to peel the ginger before using?

Nope! Just a rough chop of the ginger is all that's needed before throwing it in the pot to cook.

Can I use regular brewed coffee?

I find instant coffee works the best, but if you are making a pot of coffee, you could save a tiny bit on the side for your ginger latte. 1 ounce of black coffee is enough for this delicious treat.

What other variations can I make?

Use pure honey or a sugar substitute in place of the brown sugar.
Garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or nutmeg.
