Shawarma seasoning is typically made from a blend of warm, aromatic spices. Common ingredients include cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, and sometimes cinnamon.

What is the difference between Greek seasoning and shawarma seasoning?

Greek seasoning and shawarma seasoning share some similarities in their use of herbs and spices, but they have distinct flavor profiles.

Can I use shawarma seasoning for other dishes?

Absolutely! Shawarma seasoning is incredibly versatile and can be used on more than just shawarma. It's fantastic for seasoning roasted vegetables, adding flavor to soups or stews, or sprinkling over grilled meats like chicken, beef, or lamb.

My notes

  • Don't be afraid to use shawarma seasoning in non-traditional ways, such as in dips or marinades. The possibilities are endless!
  • This is a great recipe to make a large batch and keep it on hand in your spice cabinet for whenever you need it.
  • I like to rinse out and reuse glass spice jars. They help keep the spices fresh.

Storage - Store your spice blend in an airtight container in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
