Enjoy a free, 5-day meal plan of delicious meals for you and your family. Meal plan is a great way to ease your days, relax, save time while making sure your family is getting hot home-cooked meals every night.

By the end of August, early September most kids will be back to their schools. If you need a nutritious old style breakfast try this old Egyptian breakfast dish. I think this recipe is what started the idea of breakfast hot cereal :).

I've been sharing 5-day meal plans with my email subscribers for many years now, started sharing some of those on Instagram and I love the feedback I get from those who love the meal plans and use them regularly.

If you’re new to my meal plans, they normally include 5 dinner recipes and one or two desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth. I'm trying my best to be thoughtful and add a variety of recipes with plenty of wiggle room for you to add or subtract food and I always suggest you make a day per week for leftovers or use them for lunch the next day.

    Food Days This Week

This week we are having some interesting and fun days to celebrate. These days are a good opportunity to raise awareness, shed some light, or inspire you to create more recipes in your kitchen. So let's check them out:

    • August 30: National Toasted Marshmallow Day.
    • September 1: National Gyro Day.

    In Season Now

In September we enjoy the abundance of produce thanks to the last days of summer. Apples, grapes, cucumber, corn, green beans, cauliflower, zucchini and more.

    August 30

Eggs pouched in spicy tomato sauce, you bet it is going to be Shakshouka tonight. Make it with or without the feta cheese or play with the vegetables for a hearty meatless meal.

    August 31

Make use of the zucchini and squash types out there and cook some stuffed zucchini with a tasty yogurt sauce. Prepare the filling a day or two earlier and finish off on the day you will serve it.

Kofta skewers on a black plate with a bowl of tzatziki sauce

While we have some ground meat on hand make this lamb kofta, juicy and tender on the grill or in your oven.

    September 1

A spoon scooping chicken thighs from a platter with potatoes on the back.

Slow Cooker Chicken Thighs is a delicious meal with tender chicken and potatoes.

buttermilk biscuits on a white parchment paper with some on the back.

Homemade buttermilk biscuit, flaky and easy to make in your food processor.

    September 2

Okra stew in a white plate with rice in the back.

Simple Okra stew with delicious tomato sauce and probably pair it with a side of basmati rice or pita bread.

    September 3

Crispy homemade fried chicken tenders makes a great kid-friendly dinner with some spaghetti on the side.

    Desserts

Pumpkin sheet cake on a wire rack dripping butter-pecan sauce.

Get ready for pumpkin season and make this moist pumpkin sheet cake with a delicious buttery pecan top.
