I've been sharing 5-day meal plans with my email subscribers for many years now, started sharing some of those on Instagram and I love the feedback I get from those who love the meal plans and use them regularly.
If you’re new to my meal plans, they normally include 5 dinner recipes and one or two desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth. I'm trying my best to be thoughtful and add a variety of recipes with plenty of wiggle room for you to add or subtract food and I always suggest you make a day per week for leftovers or use them for lunch the next day.
Food Days This Week
This week we are having some interesting and fun days to celebrate. These days are a good opportunity to raise awareness, shed some light, or inspire you to create more recipes in your kitchen. So let's check them out:
- August 8: National Zucchini Day. Try some or all of these zucchini recipes.
- August 9: National Rice Pudding Day. Let's make rice pudding for dessert this week.
- August 10: National S'mores Day. Tuesday also marks the Hijri/ Islamic New Year 1443.
- August 11: National Panini Day. Do you love panini sandwiches?.
In Season Now
I cannot believe summer is already over and we are getting ready for school days again!!. As for the produce, we are still enjoying the plethora of summer produce. Avocados, zucchini, mango, watermelon, berries, corn, peaches, tomatoes and more.
Have you tried the tiktok feta pasta or not yet?. It is so delicious and kids approved. I like making it with colorful pasta for it to be even more exciting.
Make Moussaka tonight, you can make it lighter and skip the bechamel layer.
I like serving homemade tzatziki as a side with moussaka, the perfect pairing.
An out of the norm Persian soup packed full with flavors. Rich, meaty with fresh herbs and the topping is so unique.
These air fryer garlic bread is great with any soup you have. Ready in just few minutes.
Mbattan El Lahm is a ground beef and potato casserole but not like any other potato casserole. Potato stuffed with kofta mixture, dusted with flour and fried. Comfort food at its best.
End the week with an easy ground turkey sandwiches. A healthier version of the classic Merchant's pocket sandwiches that are usually done with ground beef or lamb.
This is the Egyptian rice pudding so creamy and sweet. I like to finish it off in the oven making it droolworthy.
