A bit about me:
I’m the creator, recipe developer, and storyteller behind Amira’s Pantry
I grew up in Egypt, surrounded by the aromas of slow-simmered stews, phyllo dough, freshly baked bread, and generations of family traditions. In our home, food was love, and the kitchen was full of stories, laughter, and lessons passed down from my beloved mother, grandmother(s) and aunties.
As a busy mom, wife, and business owner, I'm on a mission to find the perfect balance: meals that are quick and family-friendly, yet still full of fresh, crave-worthy flavor. The recipes here show you exactly how to do both.
How it all started:
To be really honest, I wasn’t always excited about cooking.
Moving to the U.S. turned cooking from a choice into a necessity. With a family to feed and no longer able to rely on my mom’s endless supply of dinners, I had to learn and fast!
Armed with just a phone and my mom's voice on the line, I slowly learned to rebuild the flavors of home, dish by dish.
I found my joy in cooking, but baking and dessert making stole my heart. They're my go to for kitchen therapy and stress relief.
What started as a place to keep my recipes alive for my kids, eventually blossomed into a blog where I could share my recipes, and a piece of my heart, with the world.
What I Believe
- Food should be joyful, not stressful.
- Everyone can cook delicious food.
- Traditional recipes deserve to be preserved and shared.
- Community is built at the table.
- I test each recipe in my own kitchen and write it the way I’d explain it to a friend — with clarity, warmth, and plenty of helpful tips.
- My goal is to turn you from someone who loves to eat to someone who loves to feed.
- Thank you for welcoming me into your home and for trusting my recipes with your family table. It’s an honor I don’t take lightly.
Fun Facts About Me
- I speak both Arabic and English fluently.
- I’m a huge tea person — especially mint tea, Egyptian style.
- My favorite comfort food: Macarona Bechamel (but only my mom’s version!).
- I believe every kitchen tells a story, and every recipe carries a memory.
- If I could only cook one thing forever: freshly baked bread stuffed with falafel or shawarma.
