🥄 Instructions

Note: This is an overview of the instructions. The detailed instructions are in the recipe card below.

A blender jar with banana pineapple smoothie ingredients.
Pineapple banana smoothie recipe is an easy breakfast recipe.
  1. To your blender, add pineapple chunks, banana, yogurt, juice and vanilla extract.
  2. Blend until smooth, taste and add honey if you want it.
  3. Pour into cups and serve immediately.

💡 Tips

  • You can use fresh pineapple cut into small pieces or canned pineapple, but in this case, you will need to add some ice cubes and adjust the flavor and sweetness.
  • Or you can use frozen bananas.
  • Do not use frozen bananas along with frozen pineapple. This will result in a smoothie with a loose ice cream consistency.
  • If you do not have vanilla yogurt, you can use plain yogurt with some vanilla extract.
  • Add more fruit juice if you need to thin it out to your consistency.
  • A high speed blender works best for this recipe. If you don't have one, be sure to blend longer until you reach the desired texture.

🧺 Storage

This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh but you can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Be sure to give it a good stir or shake before enjoying again!

⌛ Make Ahead

This smoothie is best made fresh, I don't recommend making it ahead.

🍽️ Serve With

Serve this fresh smoothie with your other favorite breakfast recipes such as these Banana Applesauce Muffins or these Brioche French Toast Casserole.

👩‍🍳 Variations

  • For a bit of extra flavor, add some freshly grated ginger or nutmeg to your smoothie.
  • Add some maple syrup for extra sweetness.
  • You can change the flavor by using different juice combinations, such as fresh orange juice, apple, or cranberry.
  • Additionally, try adding superfoods like chia seeds or flaxseed for an extra nutrition boost!
  • You could also use coconut extract instead of vanilla extract for a tropical flavor boost.
  • For more protein add a scoop of your favorite vanilla or unflavored protein powder.
  • Need a vegan smoothie? use dairy-free yogurt.
